Explore human–wildlife coexistence in the heart of urban Malaysia
Ready to put your passion into practice, solving urban wildlife conflicts? Join our Urban Wildlife Internship Programme in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and contribute to a field-based conservation initiative focused on understanding and improving coexistence between humans and wildlife in rapidly urbanising environments. This immersive 4-week internship offers a unique opportunity to work with urban wildlife, particularly long-tailed macaques, while engaging with local communities to better understand human–wildlife interactions and conflict dynamics.
Based across active field sites in Bukit Gasing Forest Reserve and Bukit Kiara Federal Park, interns will assist with wildlife monitoring, behavioural observations, and community outreach activities alongside conservation practitioners and local stakeholders. The programme combines ecological research, behavioural data collection, conservation communication, and public engagement to support practical, long-term coexistence solutions in Malaysia’s urban ecosystems.
