URBAN WILDLIFE CONSERVATION TOUR

Experience Conservation Where Cities and Wildlife Meet

Beyond the city’s skyline lies a remarkable urban ecosystem where people and wildlife live side by side. As Kuala Lumpur continues to grow, understanding how we share these spaces has never been more important.

This immersive half-day or full-day experience invites groups to explore the city’s natural landscapes and discover the realities of human–wildlife coexistence. Set within Bukit Gasing Forest Reserve and Bukit Kiara Federal Park, participants will learn how urban wildlife, including the Long-tailed macaque, has adapted to life alongside people, while exploring the challenges and opportunities of sharing urban spaces with nature.

Guided by experienced conservationists, the programme combines field-based learning, engaging discussions, and real-world examples to explore the relationship between people, wildlife, and the urban environment. Participants will discover how research, education, and community action contribute to more harmonious coexistence.

Designed for corporate groups, student groups, families, and other organisations, this programme provides a meaningful opportunity to connect with nature, strengthen environmental awareness, and gain a deeper understanding of urban conservation.

Why This Experience Matters

Cities are often viewed as places built solely for people, yet they are also home to a diverse range of wildlife. As urban landscapes continue to expand, creating spaces where both people and nature can thrive requires understanding, collaboration, and informed action.

Throughout the experience, participants will:

  • Explore Kuala Lumpur’s significant urban forest reserves.
  • Learn about the behaviour and ecology of wildlife living within the city.
  • Discover how scientific research informs practical conservation solutions.
  • Gain insight into the importance of community engagement in addressing human–wildlife interactions.
  • Leave with a greater appreciation of how people and wildlife can share urban spaces.

This experience offers more than a visit to the forest. It provides a new perspective on urban conservation and demonstrates how understanding, awareness, and responsible actions can help support a future where communities and nature thrive together.
