Step beyond the city and discover the vital role Malaysia’s tropical rainforests play in protecting biodiversity, regulating the climate, and supporting healthy ecosystems. As one of the world’s richest natural environments, these forests are home to an extraordinary variety of plant and animal species, making their conservation more important than ever.

Despite their importance, tropical rainforests face growing challenges from habitat loss, climate change, and the decline of native species. Protecting these ecosystems requires not only conservation efforts on the ground but also greater awareness and understanding of the role forests play in sustaining life.

FROM SEED TO FOREST

Designed for corporate groups, student groups, and other organisations, this immersive half-day or full-day programme introduces participants to the principles of rainforest conservation through guided learning, nursery exploration, and hands-on activities. Participants will gain insight into the challenges facing tropical forests, the importance of native tree species, and the practical steps involved in restoring and protecting these valuable ecosystems.

From exploring the Tropical Rainforest Living Collections to taking part in activities such as seed sowing, seedling care, transplanting, and plant maintenance, groups will experience conservation in action while learning how native rainforest species are protected and nurtured. This hands-on experience provides a meaningful way for participants to connect with nature, strengthen environmental awareness, and develop a deeper appreciation for rainforest conservation efforts in Malaysia.
