Incredible Full-Day Experience at the Elephant Sanctuary

Todd Bowey, 2025
We opted for the full-day experience and are so glad we did. From start to finish, the day was incredibly well-organised and meaningful. Our guide spoke perfect English and took the time to answer every question with care and detail. The experience began with a short but powerful video explaining the sanctuary’s purpose.
Highly, highly recommend this experience to anyone who cares about animals or wants to learn more about ethical wildlife tourism. Truly unforgettable. (Google review)

It is a thoroughly enjoyable and educational experience.

Iain MacPherson, 2025
If you are looking for animal interactions, you shouldn’t be, and, apart from feeding the elephants, you won’t get it here. As our guide said, “We are here for the animals, not them for us.” It is a thoroughly enjoyable and educational experience. We did the full-day tour, which included a lovely lunch, which we would recommend. A half day is also offered. These guys do absolutely amazing work and deserve to be supported. (Google review)

I recommend to anyone who wants to experience wildlife with the respect they deserve

Wendy B, 2023 (travelled as a couple)
We both thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Our room was above the restaurant (which closes at 20:30, so no noise from below) and looked out across an elephant enclosure and a few gibbon islands. It was magical to see these majestic animals up so close and taking it easy. The bed was comfortable, with soft pillows and clean linen. The food from the onsite restaurant was very good and was competitively priced. (Tripadvisor review)

The Wildlife Experience

What is the mission of this Wildlife Rescue Centre?

Our mission is to rescue captive wild animals from abuse and exploitation. Since 2001, we have been dedicated to rescuing wild animals from the tourist trade, illegal trafficking, and the pet industry. Ultimately, our goals are to rehabilitate and release these animals, if possible, which in turn helps protect Thailand’s ecosystems. Additionally, we provide lifelong care, campaign against the illegal animal trade, offer veterinary assistance, and educate the public on wildlife conservation.

What is included in the Full-Day Tour?

The programme includes an educational video, a guided walking tour to see bears, monkeys, and gibbons, a Thai buffet lunch, a driving tour of the Ape Islands, a visit to the Big Cat Rescue Center (tigers and leopards), and an elephant feeding “meet and greet”.

Will I be able to interact closely with the animals?

The sanctuary prioritises animal welfare and your safety; exploitative tourist activities such as animal selfies and shows are definitely not on offer, and the centre’s campaign for the ethical treatment of wild animals will be thoroughly explained by the guides and other hosts during your stay.  However, the Full-Day program does include a scheduled elephant feeding session, since all the elephants are life-long residents and can no longer be released into the wild.

How does my stay help the animals?

Every stay and tour generates ethical income that directly funds the certified wildlife hospital and the lifelong care of over 700 rescued animals.
