Celebrating 10 Years of Impact for Conservation!

This year, my non-profit company is marking a decade of making a difference for nature! Together, we’ve:

• Supported 17 conservation projects
• Generated nearly £100,000 for wildlife conservation in Malaysia and Indonesia
• Engaged 249 amazing volunteers who dedicated over 34,000 working hours

Along this incredible journey, I’ve learned some valuable lessons:

1. Perseverance pays off – Pushing through 6 years of minimal income and COVID challenges have finally led to results.

2. Focus is key – Sticking to our core mission was crucial. As they say, “Follow One Course Until Successful.”

3. Conservation heroes deserve more – I’m privileged to work with incredible individuals who sacrifice so much to save nature. They’re true heroes, often undervalued and underpaid but driven by their passion.

4. Reimagining the Nonprofit Model: The current nonprofit model must evolve to effectively address 21st-century challenges. We need to embrace innovation and collaboration to thrive.

The path hasn’t been easy, but the rewards of protecting endangered species and their habitats are immeasurable. While the conservation sector faces challenges, I’m more committed than ever to driving positive change for wildlife.

2024 Highlights: Our impact for conservation in figures

At Biodiversity Business, our mission is clear: to save endangered animals and their habitats. This past year marked significant growth and impact, and we’re excited to share our key achievements:

  • Increased Revenue: Our revenue grew from £40,000 to an impressive £65,560, directly boosting our financial and volunteer/intern support. This allowed us to proudly donate £48,608 to conservation projects in 2024 alone.
  • First Corporate Volunteer Event: We successfully launched our inaugural Corporate Volunteer Programme, opening new avenues for business engagement in conservation.
  • Expanded Our Team: We welcomed a permanent staff member to manage bookings and fuel our growth, ensuring greater support for our projects. Our dedicated team of volunteers and freelance staff also expanded, further strengthening our marketing efforts.
  • Maximised Project Support: We proudly maintained our commitment to directly fund conservation, with approximately 80% of our revenue going straight to the projects we support.
Our dedication has led to a total of £90,514 donated to conservation projects in the past 10 years. Thank you for helping us make a tangible difference!
