Do you have a passion for communicating about conservation?
Then apply for the Cambridge Marketing Internship for Conservation 2018
This opportunity is offered to a young conservationist or recent graduate with a strong interest in wildlife conservation to acquire professional marketing skills, through work experience and study, to further their career in conservation communications.
The internship is on a VOLUNTEER basis. You will work for a wildlife NGO and study for a marketing qualification.
Cambridge is uniquely the hub of the largest cluster of conservation organisations in the world. You will be based at the Conservation Campus in the heart of Cambridge, where many members of the Cambridge Conservation Forum are based in the pioneering David Attenborough Building (DAB).
As a marketing intern, you will work on communications projects with a focus on saving endangered species and their habitats. These projects are coordinated by Biodiversity Business, a social enterprise dedicated to creating shared value for biodiversity and business. You will be involved in marketing communications such as preparing marketing materials (online and offline), assist in the creation of marketing campaigns, handling social media, collecting and analyzing of marketing data.
Since most of the conservation projects are based in South East Asia, you also have the option of going there to gain valuable field experience. (Accommodation and board provided, but travel for intern’s own account).
The Cambridge Marketing Internship for CONSERVATION 2018 is sponsored by Cambridge Marketing College, the leading marketing college in Europe providing professional qualifications and courses in marketing and PR. The intern will be enrolled to gain the CIM Chartered Institute of Marketing Certificate in Professional Marketing. This is an internationally recognised CIM qualification. The course taught by Cambridge Marketing College is the degree level qualification for those relatively new to marketing and introduces delegates to the fundamentals of marketing, digital marketing and marketing communications. The course consists of three modules: MARKETING, DIGITAL MARKETING and INTEGRATED COMMUNICATIONS.
The internship will start from January 2018, and you will have to commit ONE YEAR to complete all three modules of the CIM qualification by December 2018. All your study with the college is via Distance Learning. For those who live in the Cambridge area, there is an option to attend classes for the first module.
You can expect to work about 20 hours a week for the first 3 months and the rest will be study time. After taking your exam for the MARKETING module, you can travel to Malaysia to start your full-time work in the field. During this time, you will work and study for the remaining two modules: INTEGRATED COMMUNICATIONS and DIGITAL MARKETING. Your stay in Malaysia will include trips to project sites in the rainforest and a marine park on the East coast. This will take at least 6 months, but you can stay a maximum of 9 months and return home by the end of the year.
DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS IS SUNDAY 12 NOVEMBER 2017.
